Vestie “Doodle” Carroll, 68, of Wallins passed into the arms of Jesus on March 1, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving daughters and husband. Best known for being the lady of Dairy Queen who would pray for anyone at anytime, she never met a stranger.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Ely June and Evelyn Lamb, a brother, Bob Lamb, and sisters, Marie King and Debbie Wilson.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Don Carroll; children - Becky (Darrell) Wilson, Crissy Smiddy (Jamie Johnson), Ashley (Jeff) Cole and Dana Carroll; grandchildren - Aaron (Beth) Johnson, Austin (Ayla) Adams, Whitney Wilson (Josh Turner), Alyssa Adams, Tyler Cole, Trenton Cole, Braylie Wilson and Brylie Wilson; great-grandchildren - Jeremiah Stewart, Easton Johnson, Raelyn Blevins and Brynlee Johnson; sisters, Lisa (James) Bays and Linda Marlow; brother, Don Lamb; bonus daughters, Cheryl Thompson and April Howard Galloway; and, best friend, Betty Barker.
A special thank you from the family to her favorite infusion nurse, Erika Couch, Dr. Sajnani and to her Hospice team, Tiffany (Tina) Gray, Lisa Perry and Bridgett Howard.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 3 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 pm Saturday, March 4 in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Daniels officiating.
Burial will follow in the Park Howard Cemetery at Wallins.
Pallbearers are Darrell Wilson, Jamie Johnson, Jeff Cole, Aaron Johnson, Austin Adams, Tyler Cole, Trenton Cole, and Josh Turner.
Honorary pallbearers are all her friends and co-workers from Dairy Queen, whom she loved and held so very close to her heart.
