Sidney Helton

Sidney Albert Helton, 60 of Wallins, KY passed away on Sunday morning of July 4, 2021 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY.
Sidney was born in Dayton, OH to Sidney and Rebecca Arvin Helton. He was a Veteran of the United States Airforce having served during the Iran/Iraq conflict. For several years he was the Manager for Western Auto at Baxter and Advance Auto Parts. For the last 10 years he was the office manager for Howard Heating & Cooling in Baxter, KY. He was a member of the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his mamaw, Marie Arvin; nephew, Patrick Howard; and best friend, Vern Guffy.
He is survived by his parents, Sidney and Rebecca Helton of Wallins; his wife of 40 years, Faith Helton of Wallins; his children, Michelle (Mike) Gross of Taylorsville, Melissa (Justin) Napier of Wallins, and Stephanie (John) Hardin of Glencoe; 8 grandchildren, Nathan, Hunter, Tristian, Alex, Alyssa, Aiden, Micah, and Gunner; 2 sisters, Joanna (Rick) Amburgey; Janet (Buddy) Howard; nephew, Jered Howard; nieces, Emily, Hannah, and Rachel Amburgey; father/mother in law, Dan & Pat Votaw of Dayton, OH; and his beloved cats, "Charlie" and "Max".
Visitation will be 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm Thursday (July 8) at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home and after 12:00 Friday until the funeral hour.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday (July 9) in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Freeman Clark and Rev. Mike Gross officiating. Military Rites will be observed at the funeral home by the Harlan Honor Guard.
