Roy "Tony" Gentry

Roy Anthony "Tony" Gentry, 65 of Cranks passed away Thursday evening of March 17, 2022 at his home.
Tony was born October 31, 1956 was born in Harlan to the late Charles and Lorene Carr Gentry. He was a retired coal miner with over 38 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, ginseng hunting, motorcycles and  he loved to be in the mountains of Harlan Co.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Gentry; mother in law, Margie Hall; brother in laws, Rusty Ledford and Daniel Belcher; special grandson, Alex Carroll.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou Gentry; daughter, Toni Lee Gentry; brother, Mike Gentry; sisters, Margaret "Boots" (Bill) Dean, Jacquelyn Claiborne, LInda Belcher, Wanda Irvin, Martha Humpert, Jeannie Carroll, and Vicki (Greg) Rounds; special granddaughter, Maria Carroll; special nephews, Billy Ray Dean,. Matthew Carroll, and Marc Carroll; he leaves a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
In keeping with Tony's wishes a simple gathering of family and friends will be 5:00 pm 7:00 pm Monday (March 21) at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Private burial will be in the Napier Family Cemetery at Cranks, Ky.
