John G. Perkins

   John G. Perkins, 83 of Pine Knot, KY formerly of Harlan passed away Tuesday morning of March 14, 2023 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Center in Somerset, KY.
   John was born July 11, 1939 in Harlan to the late John Perkins, Sr and Ethel Lawson Perkins. He was a retired coal miner.
   Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Perkins on March 11, 2020 and his daughter, Edna Harris; brothers, Nathan, David, Charles, and Danny Perkins; sisters, Faye Jones, Frieda  Perkins, Grace Smith, and Welma Massingale. 
   He is survived by his sons, Mikel Perkins of Richmond, KY, David, Johnny, Robert, and Michael Perkins all of Pine Knot, KY; his daughters, Teresa Couch of Harlan and Dana Perkins of Oneida, TN; brothers, Linville Perkins of South Carolina and Marvin Perkins of Pine Knott, KY; sister, Debbie Perkins of Harlan; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. 
    Visitation will 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Friday (March 17) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
    Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Buddy Simpson officiating. 
    Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY.
