James William “Bill” Jones, 79 of Loyall passed away on Monday afternoon of March 23, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Bill was born on March 24, 1940 to the late Joe & Estelle Venable Jones. He was a Graduate of Loyall High School, Veteran of the United States Army and a retired Machinist. He was beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle who was a an avid UK Wildcat fan and always enjoyed watching the Kentucky Derby on the 1st Saturday of May.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jackie Farmer Jones; sister, Betty Jane “Susie” Fields; sister in law, Judy Jones; longtime companion, Martha Goins.
He is survived by his two daughters, Roberta (Danna Leonard) Jones of Joliet, IL and Lara (Greg) Hall of Loyall; grandsons, Caleb Hall of Mount Vernon and Cody Hall of Loyall, KY; brothers, Joe Ed Jones of Illinois and Leroy (Charlene “Tootsie”) Jones of Harlan; sisters, Jackie (Ronnie) Bryant of Fredericksburg, VA, Kay (Jim) Boggs of Hazard, Alice (Jack) Sergent of Middletown, OH, and Sherry (Guy) Fain of Harrogate, TN; uncle, Pete Venable; aunt, Mary Ann Wright; sister in law, Margaret (Larry) Blanton; he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Due to Governor Andy Beshear's Executive Order, given on March 17, 2020, and based on CDC recommendations to decrease the spread of COVID-19, all services for James William Jones will be private.
Private burial will be in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Bluegrass Care Navigators and to Home Helpers out of London for the tireless care and compassion shown to the Jones Family over the last several months.
