James Malcholm Robinson, Sr, 86 of Harlan passed away on Sunday morning of October 4, 2020 at the Harlan ARH.
Jim was born in Kenvir, KY to the late James Robert and Mary Robinson. Jim was a well known and respected Insurance Agent with American General Life Insurance Company. He retired after after 42 years of service as the District Manager for this area. He was a member of the Harlan Christian Church, 60 year member of the Yocum Lodge 897 F&AM and a Shriner. He was a very avid Golfer, enjoyed spending time with his family especially, the grandchildren. Jim was a very generous man, giving to his church, St. Jude, and the Shriners Hospital in Lexington. Simply put Jim was a man of his word and a firm handshake always meant that.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Lavon Belcher Robinson; his son, James Malcholm Robinson, Jr.; sister, Dorothy Clutts Moore.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Robinson of Harlan; grandchildren, James Malcholm Robinson, III, Brandt Robinson, Reesa Camille Browning, and Delmar Bryce Browning; great grandchildren, James Malcholm, IV, Emily, Natalie, Olivia, Loren Harper; He leaves nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn his passing for whom he loved all dearly.
Visitation will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Tuesday (Oct. 13) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Charles Morris officiating. Masonic Rites will be observed just prior to the service at 6:45 pm by the Yocum Lodge 897.
Graveside services will be 12:00 pm on Wednesday (Oct. 14) at the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, Ky. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 11:30 am to go in procession to the cemetery.
Flowers are welcomed, but the family suggest memorials to the Brayden Morris Trust Fund, C/O the Harlan Christian Church, 130 South First Street, Harlan, KY 40831 in Memory of Jim.
