Iva Lee Horton-Hart

Iva Lee Horton-Hart, 89 of Lexington, Kentucky, formerly of Harlan, Kentucky, passed peacefully from this life to be with her Heavenly Father on May 28, 2016. Adoring and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Iva Lee was surrounded by her family until Our Lord took her home.

Iva Lee Horton-Hart was born on September 8, 1926 in Knoxville, Tennessee and later moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she grew up and met her husband, Glenn (Chick) Horton, who was stationed in the USAF. Once, honorably discharged, the couple moved to Harlan, Kentucky in 1948 where they made their home and raised their family.

Iva Lee was preceded in death by her parents Johanna and Robert Miller; husband, William Glenn Horton (Chick); second husband Norman (Pat) Hart;  and son-in-law, Clark (Sug) Pursiful.

She was survived by two daughters, Rinda Pursiful-Williams (John), of Frankfort, Kentucky and Janet Horton-Stewart (Doug), of Lexington, Kentucky. Three granddaughters, Serita Pursiful-Johnson (Craig) Lexington, Kentucky; Christy Pursiful-Henry, (Chris Searcy) Frankfort, Kentucky;  and Lauren (Beth) Pursiful-Moore (Zach) of Frankfort, Kentucky.

Iva Lee also had four great grandchildren; Austin Collier, Madisyn Johnson, Claire Moore, Emerson Moore.  She had one nephew, Roy Moore (Debbie), Richmond, Kentucky and three stepsons, Shaun, Keith, and Craig Hart along with many other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday (June 3) from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm pm at Anderson Laws & Jones Funeral Home, 114 South 3rd Street, Harlan, KY 40831 for family and friends and a graveside service will follow at Resthaven Cemetery, Keith, Kentucky with Britt Lawson, III presiding.

Pallbearers will be Austin Collier, Doug Stewart, Chris Searcy,  Zach Moore, Craig Johnson, and Roy Moore.
