Harvey Jack Osborne Sr, 81, of Cawood, KY passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at his home following a brief illness.
Known by "Pap", by most who knew him, Harvey was always equipped with "beef sticks" for all of the kids. Harvey was a US Navy veteran having served aboard the USS Hermitage from 1956-1962. He loved traveling the world and talked often of his voyages. Harvey was also a dedicated coal miner here in Harlan, KY, having worked many years for US Steel in Lynch, KY.
In his later years, Harvey could be found on his 4-wheeler with his loyal dog Alexis. For over 10 years Pap and Lexi have travelled the mountains of Threepoint, making friends with riders they met along the way. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Harvey was preceded in death by his wife Agnes Osborne; his parents, Roy and Alice Osborne; his step daughter, Eva June Smith; step son, Fetter Wilder; as well as 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.
He is survived by sister, Ernestine Gosnell; children; Harvey Jr, Georgia (John) Bowers, Art (Beth) Osborne; grandchildren; Justin, Phineas, Darrell, Wesley, Aggie, Daniel, Fetter, Josh; Great Grandchildren; Mikey, Katie, Aiden, Wesley, Kiersten, Elora, Christian, Seth, Austin, Alyssa; Great Great Grandchildren; Aria, Kolby, Sydney, Emma. He is also survived by one special granddaughter, Misty, who served as his caretaker in his final days.
Visitation is 11:00 am - 2:00 pm Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Franklin Stewart officiating.
Burial will follow in the Smith-Browning Cemetery at Cawood, Ky where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife Agnes. Military rites will be observed by the Harlan Honor Guard.
