Glessie Boggs

Glessie Boggs, 92 of Harlan, KY passed away on Monday evening of November 18, 2019 at the Harlan Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Glessie was born November 5, 1927 in Harlan, KY to the late William Belcher and Myrtle Thomas Belcher. She was a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a member of Evarts Baptist Church.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Dave Boggs Jr.; sisters, Edna Massey, Lavon Robinson, Jerri Smith, and Kelsie Souther; and brother, John Henry Belcher.

She is survived by her son; Dennie (Tish) Boggs of Knoxville, TN, ; grandsons, Chris (Traci) Boggs of Glasgow, KY, Jon (Beth) Boggs of Knoxville, TN; great-grandchildren, Riley Boggs, and Laynie Boggs, both of Glasgow, KY, Avery, Caroline, and Eric Boggs, all of Knoxville, TN; special friends, Rose Smith and Karen Grills, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be Saturday November 23, 2019 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Graveside services will follow at 1:00 pm at Resthaven Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Joe Howard officiating. Burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter, Kaden Tower, 6100 Dutchmans LN STE 401, Louisville, KY 40205-3284.
