Gene Blanton

Gene Blanton, 70 of Wallins, KY passed away Wednesday morning of March 3, 2021 at his home.
Gene was born September 17, 1950 in Harlan, KY to the late Eudell and Gladys Neal Blanton. He believed in the Pentecostal faith and was a member of Wallins Pentecostal Church. He served in the U.S. Army, during Vietnam, and was a member of the 101st Airborne. He was a retired Pipefitter with Langley and Morgan Co.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Tave Cottrell Blanton; and daughter, Kristie Link.
He is survived by his children, Tina (Tony) Dean, Gene (Gina) Blanton; son in law, who he thought of as a son, Johnny Blanton; grandchildren, Whitney, C.J., Danielle (Steven), Kody, Jacob, Jalena, and Noah; great grandchildren, Kristie, Braylee, Ryker, and Hazel; sisters, Annette and Gloria.
Visitation will be Friday (March 5) from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
In Keeping with Gene's wishes a Private graveside will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. Ray Stepp officiating. Military rites will be observed by the Harlan Honor Guard.
Covid-19 Restrictions of 50% of funeral home capacity, face masks, and social distancing all set by the Governor of Kentucky shall be followed.
