Fred Carson Neff, 78 of Rutledge, TN formerly of Putney, KY left this earth for his heavenly home on Wednesday November 24, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.
Carson was born May 3, 1943 in Lynch, KY to the late Chester and Mae Jackson Neff. He was a disabled coal miner having worked many years at Yancy and finishing up last at Pathfork-Harlan Coal Co. He believed in the Pentecostal faith.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by brother, Donald Neff; grandson Timothy (TJ) Boggs; and great granddaughter, Alexandria Beth Duncan.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Alma Jean Couch Neff; children, Elizabeth Ann Young, Loretta (Mack) Brock, Hershell Young, Stephanie (Brad) Harrell, and Carla (Jerry) Hartsell; 13 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister Patsy (Roscoe) Whitehead; one brother Ronald (Margaret) Neff: a sister-in-law Mildred Neff he leaves a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Sunday (Nov. 28) at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 7:00 pm Sunday (Nov. 28) at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Turner officiating.
He will be laid to rest on the hillside where he lived for many years in the Couch Cemetery at Putney, KY.
He was loved and will be sadly missed by family and friends.
