Charles Raymond Tomlin, Sr., born March 12, 1938 in Pendleton County, Kentucky, age 82 of Smith, passed away October 7, 2020 at Harlan ARH.
He was a son of the late Robert Lee Tomlin and Katie Lee Straub Tomlin. He loved to tell stories about his younger life, and his big grin and hearty laughter will be greatly missed. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He worked for many years on the farm doing what he loved to do best. He drove a school bus for several years and retired as a truck driver for the Harlan County Road Department.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Hazel Tomlin Sexton Taylor, and a brother, James Wesley Tomlin.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Emma Jean Eldridge Tomlin; three sons, Charles Raymond Tomlin, Jr. of Smith, Richard Alan Tomlin and wife Reesie of Danville, and Christopher Lynn Tomlin and wife Renee of Harlan; three grandchildren, Samantha Tomlin Forbes and husband Alan of Danville, Bradley Tomlin of Harlan, and Joshua Tomlin and wife Abigail of Russell Springs; three great-grandchildren, Levi, Michael, and Betty Joanna Forbes; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Saturday October 10, 2020 at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 10, 2020 in the chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Bro. Joshua Tomlin officiating.
Burial will follow at the Tomlin Family Cemetery in Smith with Pallbearers being sons and grandsons.
Covid-19 Restrictions of 50% of our capacity, face masks, and social distancing all set by the Governor of Kentucky shall be followed.
