   Carlos Leon "Howie" Sturgill, 58 of Cumberland, KY passed away peacefully after a long illness at the Harlan ARH, surrounded by his loving family.
   Howie was born July 22, 1962 in Fleming Neon, KY to Monetta Lorene Brown Sturgill and the late Wayne Sturgill. He was a coal miner for over 32 years. He enjoyed fishing, and any kind of racing, but was know for driving on the dirt tracks. His greatest love was spending time with his family and he believed in the Church of God faith.
   Besides his father he was preceded in death by his step mother, Barbara Orick Sturgill.
   Survivors besides his mother are his wife, Pamala Napier Sturgill; children, Amie Parker, Beth (Dallas) Laws, Cortney (Bradley) Sturgill, and Chance Leon Sturgill; grandchildren, Aidan, Jett, Camden, Cody, Payton, Konner, Madison, Kenadee, Emersen, and baby Taytum due in August; brothers, Wayne (Christy) Sturgill, Keith (Lisa) Sturgill, and Joey Sturgill; sisters, Leisa Sturgill (Doug) Holt, and Jennifer Sturgill Saylor; he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, including a special nephew, Jason Saylor; special friend, Matt Ditty.
   The family will recieve friends from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm Friday (May 7) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home of Harlan.
   Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 pm Saturday (May 8) in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Burley Blevins and Rev. Troy Saylor officiating. Music will be provided by Mrs. Heather Blair Lewis.
   Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY. Pallbearers will be Chance Sturgill, Brad Sturgill, Dallas Laws, Aidan Lewis, Cody Laws, Payton Laws, Wayne Sturgill, Joey Sturgill, Jason Saylor, and Matt Ditty.
   Covid-19 Restrictions of 60% of our capacity, face masks, and social distancing all set by the Governor of Kentucky shall be followed.
