Wright Hensley

Mr. Wright Hensley, 85, of Thorntown, passed away May 1, 2017, at Parkwood in Lebanon.

Wright was born on April 30, 1932, in Harlan, KY, the son of the late Reverend George and Clara Hensley. He married Lena Blanton. She survives.

Wright worked in construction in the Muncie area. He lived in Thorntown the past 18 years, coming from Anderson.

Survivors include his wife Lena Hensley of Thorntown; his sons Leon (Amy) Hensley and Melvin (Debbie) Hensley both of Martinsville; his brothers Olan Hensley of Fort Wayne and Lonnie (Corey) Hensley of Indianapolis; his sister Mary (Charlie) Smith of Greenwood; his sister-in-law Irene Hensley of Lafayette; his grandchildren Daniel Hensley, Crystal (Tommy) Lohman, Allyson Hensley, Brittany Hensley, and Andrew Hensley; and his great-grandchild Sage Rose Hensley. Wright was preceded in death by his son Stanley Raymond Hensley; his brother Baylor Hensley; his sister Ludie (S.A.) Shope; and his sister-in-law Faye Hensley.

Family and friends will gather Saturday, May 6, 2017 for visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. with Pastor Steve Branstutter officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Wright will be laid to rest at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown.
