William Isaac Daniels well known as "Honest Cool" 75 of Smith, KY passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday September 18, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
William enjoyed spending time in the mountains digging for Indian artifacts, looking for old home places and spending time with his grandchildren. He never let the opportunity to pass to stop anyone to ask if they had a good pocket knife to trade on.
William served his Country in the United States Marine Corp during Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart Medal. After coming back home, he began his career in the mines as a roof bolter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bonnie Miracle Daniels and James Daniels; brothers, Jerry Wayne Daniels and James Garrett Daniels, Jr; sister, Dorothy Jean Stewart; brother in laws, Kern Smith and Terry Goodwin.
Those left to mourn his passing are his loving wife of 44 years, Suzi Stewart Daniels of Smith; sisters, Wanda (David) Sturgill of Dandridge, TN, Charlene Smith of Frankfort, IN, Annie (Joe) Jenkins of Crummies, and Lois Goodwin of Frankfort, IN; brother, Randy Daniels of Smith; his children, Josephine (Chuck) Owens of Harlan, Harvey "Special Daughter In law"(Kassie) Daniels of Smith, Kevin (Melissa) Daniels of Harlan, Shawn (Kendra) Daniels of Treemont, Angel Daniels and fiance, Steven of Crummis; his grandchildren, Emma Owens, Brody Owens, Xander Owens, Adalynn Daniels, Brentley Daniels, Maddisann Daniels, Khole Daniels, Kaylissa Daniels, Braydon Daniels, Karson Daniels, Blake Daniels, Addison Lee, Jasmine Brock, Eli Brock and Isaac Brock; he leaves a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm Sunday (Sept. 21) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home, 114 S. 3rd Street, Harlan, KY 40831 and after 12:00 pm Monday (Sept. 22) until the funeral hour at the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church at Smith.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday (Sept. 22) at the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Smith with Rev. Ronnie Hampton and Rev. Spencer Burkhart officiating.
Burial will follow in the Daniels Cemetery at Smith with Military Rites being observed by the Harlan Honor Guard.
Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.
