Vickie Farmer Gibbs, 69, of Loyall, KY gained her heavenly wings on Wednesday August 5 at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was a devoted wife, mother, meme, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a member of the Loyall Methodist Church and enjoyed baking and spending time with her family.
Vickie was born on September 20, 1956 to the late Johnny and Elizabeth Roper Farmer in Harlan, Ky.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her brother Johnny Farmer of Harlan, Ky. Sister Kathie Farmer, of Nicholasville, KY, nephew Scotty Farmer of Harlan, Ky, and sister in law Tammy Farmer of Totz, KY.
Left to cherish her passing is her husband of 48 years Roy Gibbs, whom she loved with all her heart. Two sons Roy Paul Gibbs (Arika) of Harlan, KY and Jonathan Runions of Berea, KY. One daughter Carla Luley (Ryan) of Lexington, KY. Four Grandchildren whom were her pride and joy Kylee Runions, Isaac and Lainey Gibbs all of Harlan, KY and Emersyn Luley of Lexington, KY. Two brothers Larry Farmer (Wilma) of Lexington, KY and Freddie Farmer of Totz, KY. One sister, Judith Carpenter (Ron) of Lexington, KY and sister in law LInda Farmer of Nicholasville, KY. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm on Saturday August 8 at the Loyall Methodist Church in Loyall, KY.
Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm at Loyall Methodist Church with Arnold Hammons officiating. Music will be provided by the church family.
Burial will follow at the Resthaven Cemetery in Keith, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials can be made to the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home, PO Box 763, Harlan, KY or 606 573-3757 to help offset cost of funeral expenses.
