Verna Lawson

Verna Mae Lawson, 72 of Wallins, KY passed away suddenly in the early morning hours of Monday February 7, 2022 at the Harlan ARH.
Verna was born February 8, 1949 in Harlan Co. to the late Ben Unthank Hensley and Lillie May Thomas Hensley. She had attended the Coldiron Church of God.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Everett Johnson, Sr. and Bill Lawson; daughter, Mary Ann Huff; son in law, Roy Day, Sr; brothers, William and Ben Hensley; sister, Beda Gill.
She is survived by her loving children, Edna (Thomas) Saylor of Gautier, MS, Jennifer Day, Everett Johnson, Jr, Melinda (Stanley) Farley, David (Jessica) Johnson, Dewayne (Bethany) Johnson all of Wallins, KY; grandchildren, Batrina and Donovan Yeager, Natasha (Matt) Clay, Roy (Angel) Day, Stephanie (Henry) Day, Whitney, Bobby, Heather, and Stacey Huff, Aaron, Olivia, Gracelynn, and Hayden Johnson, and Addison Day; great grandchildren, Brayden Clay, Elizabeth, Henry, and Zach Branson, JoJo and Braxton, Mason Bryson; half brother, Billy Ray Howard; special friends, Snobia Brock and Christy Garner; she leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Wednesday (Feb. 9) at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday (Feb. 10) in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Carmical officiating. Music will be provided by Seth Carmical, Donnie Fisher, and the Coldiron Singers.
Burial will follow in the Old Creech Cemetery at Wallins, KY with family and friends serving as Pallbearers.
