Vera Stanton Whitehead

    Vera Stanton Whitehead, 89, of Harlan, KY and wife to the late Harry W. Whitehead Sr., passed away peacefully to be with her Lord on July 11th, 2023.
    Daughter of the late Grace and George Stanton was born August 23, 1933 in Cawood, KY, Vera was a loving and compassionate Christian lady known for her kindness, grace, and devoted faith as a practicing member of the Church of God. Vera read the Bible morning, day and night since she loved the Word of God and practiced its teachings. Vera loved her God first, followed by her children always being there for them in their time of need. 
    Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Elizabeth Susan Whitehead and several siblings.
    Vera is survived by two sons Harry Jr. and Charles Sr., six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren where her values will be carried on as a lasting legacy. 
    Visitation will be 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm Tuesday (July 18) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home, 114 S. 3rd Street, Harlan, KY,
    Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Dale Shackleford officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY
    She was the truest example of living life by conviction and faith, she will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always cherished in our hearts.
