Troy Nelson Fox

On Monday, August 14, 2023, Troy Fox, a resident at Harlan Health and Rehabilitation Center, passed from this life and entered the kingdom of heaven. He was 45 years old, having been born January 31, 1978, in Harlan County, Ky. He was the son of Ronnie Fox and Vernice Nolan. Troy was preceded in death by his parents.  He lived in Harlan County most of his life.

Troy was a graduate of James A. Cawood High School where he was a member of the band.  He was a member of Putney Bible Church.  He was an avid fan of UK athletics, Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals.  Troy was a lot of fun to be around, never a dull moment.  Always trying to pull a joke on someone.  You never knew what he was going to do or how he was going to do it.  Comforted to know his earthly suffering is over and he will rejoice and praise God forever.

Fox  Brother: Dale Fox (Sheila);  Step Brothers:  Howard Ellison, Lee Ellison, Lance Ellison; Step Sister Annette Morris (Jim); Uncles: William Lee Nolan (Regina), Dink Pollitte’ Aunts:  Carol Cavins (Duke),  Nancye Nolan,  Diane Corriston;  Great Uncles:  Deshay Bowling, Ed Bowling (Martha Sue)  Great Aunt:  Lois Jean Bradford (Jimmy) Parents- in -law: Carlos & Shirley Fouts  Cousins:  Dr. Garvin Nickell, Beth Warner, Marvelle Ilko (Greg),  Adam Cavins (Leslie),  David Nolan (Nicole), Andy Cavins (Xin),  Abby Johnson (Graham), Danny Ray Bowling (Stacey), David Bowling (Rena)

He also leaves a host of other family and friends mourning his passing.

Troy is Preceded in death by his Father: Ronnie Fox; Mother: Vernice Nolan; Grandparents: Eldon & Judy Fox, Leon & Grace Nolan; Uncle: Jim Nolan; Aunt: Patty & Gary Caldwell; Cousin: Scott Caldwell & Julia Robinson

A very special thank you to his family and friends of Harlan Health and Rehab where Troy spent about the last 14 years of his life.  We are so appreciative of the Love and Care provided for him daily.   The Staff treated him like he was a member of their family.  May God Bless and watch over them as they continue to serve and care for other in great need with love and compassion. 

Also, a thank you to Harlan ARH.  To all the Doctors, Nurses, and staff that provided care and support for Troy during often difficult times.  May God Bless and watch over them as they provide care and wellness for patients daily. 

Visitation for Troy Nelson Fox will be held on Friday August 18, 2023, from noon until 2:00 pm, in the Chapel of Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home, Harlan, followed by the funeral at the funeral home with Rev. Britt Lawson III and Roger Dale Colinger officiating. Burial will be at the Resthaven Cemetery, Keith KY., on Friday, August 18, 2023.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Flowers are welcomed but memorials are suggested to the Harlan Health & Rehabilitation Center Activity Fund.
