Stevie Wayne Hensley

Stevie Wayne Hensley, 55 of Harlan passed away Wednesday evening of September 17, 2025 at his home.

Stevie was born July 31, 1970 in Harlan to the late Dave Jones and Lorene Couch Osborne. He was retired from KCEOC, he also had worked at Wendy's, he served as a Deputy Jailer for the Harlan Co. Detention Center and Mall Security. He enjoyed collecting coins and spending time with his children and family. He was a graduate of Harlan High School and avid Green Dragon fan. He believed in the Christian Faith and was a member of the Harlan Christian Church.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Hannah Lou Rouse; grandmother, Hannah Hensley; nephew, Eric Rouse.

He is survived by his loving wife. Amy Simpson Hensley; children, Paxton Hensley, Parker Hensley, Paige Simpson, Payton Simpson, a granddaughter who he was raising like a daughter, McKenzie Collett; grandchildren, Mystical Gross, Joseph Gross and Aaliya Simpson; brothers, David "Bug" Hensley, Ronald "Button" Hensley and Jeffrey Osborne; sister, Rhonda Kay Laws; he leaves a host of nieces and nephews, including 2 special ones, Brooke Laws and Tristan Holt.

Visitation will be 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Saturday (Sept. 20) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home, 114 South 3rd Street, Harlan, KY 40831.

Funeral services will follow at 6:00 pm in the Chapel with Pastor David Johnson and Pastor Roy McNiel officiating.

Graveside services will be 11:00 am Monday (Sept. 22) at the Resthaven Cemetery Chapel. Burial will then follow in the Resthaven Cemetery.

Flowers are welcomed, but the family suggest memorials to Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home, PO Box 763, Harlan, KY 40831 to help offset funeral expenses.
