Sherry Faye Long

Sherry Faye Long, 69 of Coldiron, KY passed away on Sunday afternoon of October 12, 2025 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Sherry was born June 29, 1956 in Harlan to the late John and Macie Brock. She had worked with the United States Postal System for over 35 years, having served as Postmaster at Coldiron and most recently Loyall. She enjoyed working in the public greeting everyone at the Post Office over the years.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Danny Brock; in laws, Roger Lewis Long, Joyce Simpson and Jeanette Barbay.

Surviving are her husband of 47 years, David Long; sister in law, Nancy Brock; her nephew and niece, Dewayne and Sheila; in laws, Virgil "Buddy" Long and wife Shelby, Shirley Long, Nona Carmical and husband Jack, Jan Rose Blanton and husband Vernon and Dell Long; she leaves a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Visitation will be 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm Tuesday (Oct. 14) at the Coldiron Church of God.

Funeral services will be 12:00 pm Wednesday (Oct. 15) at the Coldiron Church of God with Rev. Franklin Stewart and Rev. Shawn Rigney officiating.

Burial will follow in the Brock Cemetery at Jesses Creek with family and friends serving as Pallbearers.
