Shelia Howard Curry

  Shelia Howard Curry, 63, of Baxter, KY entered the pearly gates of Heaven at Bluegrass Hospice Care in Lexington, KY on October 11, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. 

 She was born November 1, 1960, in Harlan, KY to the late Robert and Dovie Williams.

 Shelia was preceded in death by her husband, James Curry. She supported her late husband’s time with the Veterans of Foreign Wars and traveled extensively with him and friends to places including Ireland and Hawaii.

 Shelia was a strong Christian and attended Cornerstone Church in Baxter, KY. She retired from the medical department at the Daniel Boone Clinic in Harlan, KY. She was a lifetime member of VFW Auxiliary 5829 in Whitesburg, KY.

 Shelia will always be remembered as being family oriented. She loved a noisy house filled with family and friends. She enjoyed cooking for all of them during the holidays. Relaxation included any destination featuring sun and sand, including many cruises to the Bahamas and other Caribbean Islands. Shelia loved the ocean and her toes in the sand!

 Shelia never met a stranger, loved to joke, and always had a smile on her face. Her best friend Janey Feher of Lynch, KY, chauffeured her everywhere whether it was for dinner, shopping, or jaunting places for the weekend.

 She is survived by her two sons, William Joshua Howard (Tammie), Berea, KY and Anthony Flores, Baxter, KY. Also surviving include brothers Mike Williams (Judy), Baxter, KY, Roger Williams (Tina), Coldiron, KY, David Williams (Anna), Holly Springs, NC, Robert Williams (Carla) Fuquay-Vaina, NC, grandsons Santos Flores (Macy), Harlan, KY, William Joshua Howard II (Miranda), Richmond, KY, granddaughters Dovie Cheyenne Howard (Stephen), Middlesboro, KY, Alexis Deal (Xzavier) Marion, IN, great-granddaughter Khloee Keith, Harlan, KY, great-grandsons Jhett Cawood, Middlesboro, KY, William Joshua Howard III, Richmond, KY and great granddaughter Avery Flores, Coldiron, KY. Also surviving are several cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends Jeff Wilder, Cumberland, KY, Ann Smith and Mary Cornett, Harlan, KY.

 Visitation will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Tuesday (Oct. 15) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

 Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. John Lundy and Rev. Wayne Curry officiating. 

 Graveside services will be 11:00 am Wednesday (Oct. 16) at the Resthaven Cemetery in Keith, KY. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:20 to go in funeral procession to the cemetery.

 Pallbearers will be William Joshua Howard II, Santos Flores, Anthony Flores, Xzavier Simmons, Robbie Curry, and Roger Williams.
