Rufus "Hoover" Saylor

Rufus " Hoover" Saylor 79, of Molus Kentucky passed away Monday evening of March 2, 2026 at Hazard ARH.

Rufus was born on July 31, 1946 to the late Isaac "Ike" Saylor and Susie Brummett Helton Saylor. He was a retired Coal Miner who loved fishing and being outdoors. He was a member of the Oakdale Missionary Baptist Church.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers Tommy Saylor, Isom Saylor, Blaine Saylor, Murrell Saylor, Jeff Saylor, and Charlie Saylor. Preceded in death by his sisters Caroline Gross and Alkie Saylor.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ethel Saylor. His children Rufus (Christy) Saylor of Molus, Ky. Susie Hall of Coldiron, Ky and his sister Ethel Payne. Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and special Grandchild; Jennifer O'neal. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be on Friday (March 6) from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm at Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home.
