Roy Elmer Gibbs, 75, of Loyall, KY passed away unexpectedly at Clark Regional Medical Center on Saturday, September 19th, 2026.

  Affectionately known as Pap to his grandbabies, Roy was a member of the Loyall Methodist Church and Wallins Masonic lodge #666. He enjoyed fishing, football, and spending time with his family.

  Roy was born on October 14, 1950 to the late Emerson and Lissie Rains Gibbs in Whitley Co, KY.

  Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Vickie Farmer Gibbs of Loyall, KY. Sister, Lahnel Head of Fort Myers. FL, brother Ray "Pete" Gibbs of Murfreesboro, TN, Brothers in law Tommy Head of Laurel, MD and Bobby Jones of Fort Myers, FL.

  Left to cherish his passing are his two sons Roy Paul Gibbs (Arika) of Harlan, KY and Jonathan Runions of Berea, KY. One daughter Carla Luley (Ryan) of Lexington, KY. Four grandchildren Kylee Runions, Isaac and Lainey Gibbs all of Harlan, KY and Emersyn Luley of Lexington, KY. One brother DeWayne Gibbs (Denise) of Punta Gorda, FL, and two sisters Barbara Jones and Phyllis Catron both of Fort Myers, FL. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives to mourn his passing.

  Visitation will be from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm on Thursday September 24, 2026 at the Loyall Methodist Church.

  Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm at Loyall Methodist Church with Pastor Arnold Hammonds officiating. Music will be provided by the church family.

  Masonic Rites will be observed by Wallins Masonic Lodge F&AM following the funeral.

  Burial will follow at the Resthaven Cemetery in Keith, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
