Rosemary Miller Cantrell

  Rosemary Miller Cantrell, Harlan County's longtime bookmobile lady entered Paradise on Monday morning, November 4, 2024 while at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard following a long illness.

  Rosemary was born October 14, 1942 in Harlan to the late Hoss and Lucille Miller. She graduated from Hall High School in 1960 as class Salutatorian. Over the years she worked tirelessly in the Hall Alumni Association. She was a strong supporter of the Feed the Hungry organization. She was passionate about servicing the schools, the shut in's and her community with her bookmobile routes. Her greatest testament though was serving her Lord, having witnessed to many in her long years of public service. She was a founding member of the Gulston Christian Center.

   Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rena and Floyd Hensley; a stillborn son, Carlton Cantrell, Jr; grandson, Clark Andrew Cantrell; brother, Jimmie W. Miller; and son in law, Robb Farmer.

  She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Carlton Cantrell, Sr; sons, Kenneth, Kevin and Kirk Cantrell; daughter, Kathy Cantrell Farmer; granddaughter, Kira Marie; 2 sisters, Shirley Miller and Sandra M. Mullins; a host of beloved nieces and nephews also survive.

  Visitation will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Friday (Nov. 8) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with funeral services following at 7:00 in the Chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Colinger officiating.

  Burial will be 1:00 pm Saturday (Nov. 9) at the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery chapel just prior to service time.

  Pallbearers will be Kenneth Cantrell, Kevin Cantrell, Kirk Cantrell, Wendell Lewis, Ben Lewis and Mark Cavins.
