Nicholas Cornett

Nicholas B. Cornett (1947-2017) passed away on May 18th in the presence of his family after a long illness.  He is preceded in death by his parents Conley and Wilma Cornett, and a brother Sp. 4 Gregory D. Cornett.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Norma Jean (Owens) Cornett; his daughter Angela (Joe Bill) Cornett Baker; a son, Gregory B. Cornett; three grandsons, Nicholas G. Cornett, Andrew J. Baker, and Jacob A. Baker; and one sister, Trenna Cornett all of Loyall.

Nick was a coal miner for Eastover Mining Company for many years.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.  He lived big and loved big and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will follow immediately at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home.  Pastor Scott Hyden will officiate the services.

Interment will follow the funeral in the Howard cemetery at Rosspoint, KY.  Nicholas G. Cornett, Andrew J. Baker, Justin Owens, Peyton Dillman, Carter Barnes, Cade Barnes, and Jacob A. Baker will serve as pallbearers.
