Mildred Farmer Burgan, 91, Cranks, Kentucky departed this life December 1, 2013 at the Harlan Health and Rehabilitation Center with her son-in-law by her side.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Burgan; her partents Wash and Mary Farmer; two sisters: Irene Skidmore and Edith Swain; and three brothers: Eugene, Johnny and Glen Farmer.
Mildred was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a friend and inspiration to all those she met through life.
Mildred leaves to mourn her passing her daughter and son-in-law Coretta and John L. Mitchell of Cranks, Kentucky; grandchildren: Doug (Jackie) Mitchell of Lee County, VA, Dale (Jeannie) Mitchell, Johnathan (Amber) Mitchell all of Cranks, Kentucky; great-grandchildren: Whitney Mitchell of Cranks, Kentucky and Alyssa Mitchell of Jonesville, Virginia.
A host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; a special nephew Joe Skidmore of Cranks who took care of her at home and at the Rehab Center; and a sister-in-law: Betty Lou Smith of Catron’s Valley also mourn her passing.
Visitation for Mildred will be Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:00 PM following the visitation with the Rev. Robert Landis officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted Thursday at 1:00 PM in the Lee Memorial Gardens at Woodway, VA.
