Martha Mcniel

Martha McNiel, 85 of Harlan passed away peacefully early Tuesday Morning of January 15, 2019 at the Harlan Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Martha was born June 11, 1933 in Shelby, NC to the late Robert and Lucile Cromer Dilworth. She was a homemaker and very active and longtime member of the Harlan Baptist Church where she had served as director of the Youth Choir, Children’s Choir, Adult Choir, and the Glory Singers. She was known for her wonderful voice and the sweet smile that would light up a room.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Alan Dilworth.

She is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 60 years, John T. McNiel; her loving children, Tip (Jaimie) McNiel, Roy (Kelly) McNiel, and Peggy (Keenan) Braden; her grandchildren for whom she adored, Dylan McNiel, Conner McNiel, Kaylee McNiel, Colby McNiel, Rylie Braden, Andrew Braden, and Mallory McNiel; her brother Bob (Johanna) Dilworth and her beloved church family.

Visitation is after 10:00 am Saturday (Jan. 19) until the funeral hour at the Harlan Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday (Jan. 19) at the Harlan Baptist Church with Rev. Roy McNiel and Rev. Josh Haywood officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Tazewell, TN with family serving as Pallbearers.

Memorials are suggested to one’s favorite charity in memory of Martha.
