Karen Elizabeth Cornett

Karen Polson Cornett, 68, Baxter, Formerly of Partridge, KY, passed away peacefully on Monday morning of January 12, 2026 at the Harlan ARH. .

Born March 14, 1957 to the late George and Elizabeth Polson, she was retired from S&S Service in Cumberland. Karen was a faithful member of Lewis Creek Pentecostal Church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Polson; her mother and father-in-law, Lawerence and Bernice Cornett: and brother-in-laws, David and Dale Cornett.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Pete Cornett, Sr.; daughter, Cindy Cornett Schubert, and husband, Brian, of Nicholasville, KY and her son Pete Cornett, Jr, and wife, Adele, of Harlan. Five grandchildren: Allison Schubert DeVAult, and husband, Zach, Sheridan Indiana; E5, Joshua Schubert, U.S. Navy, Japan; Caleigh Cornett, Lexington; Kate and Cole Cornett, Harlan. One great-grandchild, Hayden DeVault.

Her siblings: Pat (Jim) Maggard; Debbie Haezebrouck, George (Chrissi) Polson, Rick Polson; Juanita Polson; Crystal Polson. Her sister and brother-in-laws: Janet Polson; Mildred Rowland; Marilyn Gaines; Sonny (Kaye) Cornett; Delmas (Kim) Cornett: Donnie (Valerie) Cornett, and numerous nephews, nieces, and other family she dearly loved.

Funeral services will be at 7:00 pm on Tuesday (Jan. 13) at the Lewis Creek Pentecostal Church, 132 Knotty Pine Road, Partridge, KY 40862, with Rev. Ronnie Oplinger officiating and reading of the obituary by Rev. Freddie Terry. Visitation from 5:00 pm until the funeral hour at the Church.

Graveside services will be 10:00 am (Jan. 14) at Resthaven Cemetery Chapel, 3000 State Highway 840, Keith, KY 40806. Burial will then follow in the Resthaven Cemetery
