June Farmer

June Orick Farmer, 74 of Wallins passed Tuesday May 7, 2013 at the Harlan ARH.

June was born June 21, 1938 at Liggett, KY to the late Neal and Ruby Ellenburg Orick, but had resided in Wallins most of her life. She was retired from Belk’s Department Store after 18 years of service.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Flora Orick, Floyd and Grace Ellenburg; her son David Farmer; 2 sisters, Margaret Orick and Barbara Sturgill; 3 brothers, Tommy, Stanley, and Sam Orick.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Britt Farmer; her son, Gary (Janie) Farmer; 1 sister, Kathryn (Eugene) Asher all of Wallins, 2 grandchildren, Bethany Farmer of Wallins and Ryan Farmer of Lexington; her immediate family, nieces, Allyson (George) Caldwell and Carmen Nace; 2 nephews, Wayne Sturgill and Brian Orick; she leaves a host of other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; special sister-in-laws, Mary Ann Farmer, Betty Sue (Pete) Scott, Vina Duncan, and Flossie (Clifford “Red”) Farmer.

Visitation will be 5 until 8:00 pm Thursday May 9, 2013 at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Friday May 10, 2013 at the Park Howard Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Thomas officiating.

Burial will follow in the Park Howard Cemetery, Wallins.
