Judy Ann (Thompson) Ely, age 67, of Cranks, KY departed this life on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of those she cherished most.

Born on December 11, 1958, to the late Johnny and Irene Thompson, Judy lived a life centered on love, family, and devotion. She married the love of her life, Homer Ely, and together they built a beautiful life over 46 years of marriage. Being mom to Shawn was one of Judy’s greatest joys, but perhaps no title brought more pride and happiness than being “Mamaw” to Brody and Kasen. 

Judy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She also shared a special bond with her daughter-in-law, whom she loved as her own and was the best of friend to. She loved beyond words and found her greatest purpose in caring for her family. She truly was the center of her family’s world. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her baby brother, Jeffery Lynn Thompson; and her sisters, Geneva Rhymer, Virginia Lou Hall, and Laotan Shepherd.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Homer Ely; her son and daughter in-law Shawn and Tasha Ely; her treasured grandsons, Brody and Kasen Ely; her sisters, Flossie Baker and Ivory Middleton; several nieces and nephews; and many loved ones who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. 

Judy’s love was her greatest legacy, and the care she gave so freely to her family will never be forgotten.

In honoring Judy’s wishes, there will be no funeral services.

Her family finds comfort in knowing that while she is no longer with them in body, her love remains the foundation of their hearts and home forever.
