Judy Benson

Judy Hancock Benson, 50 of Akron, OH formerly of Coldiron passed away Sunday April 14, 2013.

Judy was born and raised in Chicago, ILL, but always enjoyed coming home to visit her family in Coldiron.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Henry Hancock; her brother, John Henry Hancock, Jr.; her grandparents, Joe & China Saylor, Marshall and Nina Hancock.

She is survived by her mother, Verlin Saylor Zugay of Coldiron; 6 children, Brittney Benson and Fiancée Josh Holt, Georgina “George” James, Steve Benson & fiancée Marita Dixon, Bo Benson & Fiancée Ashley Semon, Gabe Benson & fiancee Rebecca Hart, and Adam Benson and fiancée Amber Dickson all of Akron; her fiancée, Lewi Cogar of Akron; she was Nana to 15 grandchildren, and 2 on the way; her sisters, Thersa (Alonzo) Turner of Bledsoe, Sandra (Eric) Stevens of Wallins and Sylvia (Tommy) Chasteen of Wallins; she leaves several other relatives to mourn her passing, including a special aunt, Sylvia Saylor of Coldiron and special friend, Tina Collins.

Visitation will be after 4:00 pm Friday, April 19, 2013 at the First Pentecostal Church of God in Coldiron. (The Block Church).

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Church with Rev. Ray Stepp officiating.

Burial will follow in the Saylor Cemetery on Jesses Creek.
