J.R. Johnson, 54, passed away at his home in Georgetown, KY on Saturday September 12, 2026. J.R. was from Dayton, OH, but lived most of his life in Harlan, KY. He was very artistic. J.R. enjoyed painting and making floral arrangements.

  J.R. is proceeded in death by his mother Christine Johnson. His grandparents Randolph Johnson, Ora Johnson, Victor Howard, and Ruby Howard.

  He is survived by his father Hubert Keith Johnson. His sister Melissa Rickett (Jamie) of Wartburg, TN. His Aunts; Elizabeth Haynes, Joanna Patterson, and Jean Melanson (Mike). His Uncle Victor Howard (Rachel). Nieces Katelynn Rickett and Maylea Lanbert and Nephews Aiden McCreary and Chase Rickett. J.R. leaves behind a host of family and friends to mourn his passing.

Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.

  Visitation will be Wednesday September 16 from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at the chapel of Anderson Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

  Funeral services will follow on Wednesday at 2:00 pm at the chapel of Anderson Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Pastor Franklin Stewart officiating.

Graveside services will follow at Howard Cemetery in Cranks, KY.
