Joyce Slusher Stahl

September 4, 1935 — April 10, 2024

Mansfield, OH formerly of Hulen, KY

Joyce Stahl, age 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. Joyce was born in Bell County, Kentucky, on September 4, 1935, to Isaac and Gladys (Hyden) Slusher. She attended Wallins Creek High School, where she was a cheerleader, and graduated in 1952. She married her first husband, Herbert Osborne Sr., and moved to Ohio in 1958, where he worked as a diesel mechanic until his passing in 1966. Joyce and Herbert had three children together before his passing. She then met and married her current husband, Ralph Stahl, in 1967 and they had two children together.

She never met a stranger which helped in her long career as an insurance agent for Prudential. Joyce was a member of Lincoln Heights Baptist Church since 1958, where she was the pianist for over 50 years. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, especially on family game nights. She was very competitive, and you had to win on your own merits. She enjoyed traveling, and was also a member of a motorcycle club, along with Ralph.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ralph Stahl. She leaves behind children, Herbert L. Osborne Jr. (Sharral), Jack Osborne Sr., Shelly Orren (Bruce), Joseph Stahl (Jennifer), Christa Zody (Jeff), and John Stahl (Beth). She also leaves behind fifteen grandchildren, Jack “Jay” Osborne Jr., Jessica Yoxtheimer, J.R. Meyer (Kassie), Nathan Meyer, Kaylie Osborne, Tucker Osborne, Jared Meyer (Kendra), Haley Ruhl (Scott), Aaron Rehbein (Leah), Tyler Zody (Rebekkah), Joel Stahl, Hope Stahl, Brandon Stahl, Madeleine Stahl, and Emily Stahl; twenty-three great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Joyce Osborne Buell of Kentucky; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joyce was preceded in death by her father and mother; two sisters, Laura Scott and Mary Bray; in-laws, Charles and Ethel Osborne; father-in-law, Ralph B. Stahl; and mother-in-law, Frances Miller.

Joyce was the perfect example of a true Christian by helping the needy, even in the midst of her own struggles. Joyce leaves behind the greatest legacy of faith and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

The family will receive friends a the Wallins Baptist Church, on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. With funeral services following at 2:00 pm with Rev. Freeman Clark officiating.
