Jimmy Morgan, Jr. , 71 of Wallins, Kentucky died Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee.  He was born April 19, 1943 to the late Naomi Garrett Morgan and James Boyd Morgan in Harlan, Kentucky.  He was a retired Sergeant with the U.S. Army after 26 years having served in Vietnam.  He was a supply sergeant for the Kentucky National Guard.

Preceding Jimmy in death were his parents and father-in-law, Oscar Haywood.

Surviving are his wife, Lanell Haywood Morgan of Wallins; son, James Brian Morgan of Wallins; brother, Troy Morgan of Sawbriar; sisters, Janice (Milas) Lewis of Waldorf, MD;  Gayle (Steve) Grogan of Greenwood, SC, ; nieces and nephews, Matthew Garrett Morgan of Sawbriar, Jimmy Lewis, Tracy (Jeremy) Emerick, Jimmy Green (Missy) and Greg Crisicillis; and great niece, Elizabeth Emerick; mother in law, Evelyn Patricia Haywood;  A host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and other relatives will also mourn his passing.

Visitation will be Friday, October 10, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Anderson Laws and Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will follow the Visitation Friday at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home.  Brother Jim Johnson will be officiating the services.

Interment Services will be Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Garrett Cemetery at Sawbriar.  Bobby Lee, Bill Bloomer, Freddie Saylor, Justin Pace, Jim Johnson, Darrell Goodin, and Tom Wade will serve as pallbearers.

The Harlan Honor Guard will provide Military Rites.

The family wishes to express a Special Thanks to the VA at Johnson City CLC Staff. Also a special thanks to his mother-in-law, Evelyn, for leading him in prayer to the Lord.
