Obituary

Jessie Alford Wallace, born September 9, 1928, the second son of David and Bessie (Carr) Wallace. Jessie had resided in Putney, KY with his brother for the past year and passed away September 4, 2026 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, KY.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lois (Baker) Wallace. Together the couple had no children. He is also proceeded in death by his parents and 6 brothers - David Jr, Marion, Charles, Jimmy, Ed, Jack, his only sister Jackaline, and his foster daughter Doris Walker.

He is survived by his brother, Bill Wallace and numerous nieces and nephews. His niece, Susan Wallace and nephew, J.D. Wallace, he knew them best and cared a great deal for them. He always welcomed them with a great smile.

He is remembered by his friends from the church he attended and his neighbors. He was a faithful member of his church and always greeted his neighbors with a welcoming smile. He had faith in Jesus as his Lord and Savior and expressed his faith for over 75 years.

Jessie was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army in Korea in 1952 as a combat infantryman. He wasn't able to talk about his duties while in Korea; which was a difficult period for him.

Before his retirement he worked as a carpenter throughout central Florida. He and Lois lived in the same home they purchased for over sixty years.

His body will be laid to rest beside his wife Lois in the Glen Haven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Drive, Winter Park, Florida awaiting GOD's promise of 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18.

1 Thessalonians 4:14-18 (KJV) For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. (15) For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. (16) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. (17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (18) Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
