Jerry Daniels

March 2, 1977 — July 11, 2025

Jerry Lee Daniels, 48 of Harlan, Kentucky, was born on Wednesday, March 2, 1977, in Kokomo, Indiana, and passed peacefully away on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Harlan ARH surrounded by his closest family members.

Known to everyone as Jerry Lee, he was always chatting and joking, making friends wherever he went, and brightening everyone's day with his crazy laughter. Jerry Lee loved playing bingo, watching wrestling, enjoying a cold Mountain Dew, and quarrelling with anyone and everyone! His sense of humor and ornery spirit made him popular with anyone he met and knew. He was well loved at the nursing home where he was a longtime resident, and the staff were like a second family to him.

Prior to his brain injury, Jerry Lee was employed as a butcher at Food City and then proudly worked on the construction crew that built the bridges on the new road to Cawood, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his Great Grandma Velara Widener, Papaw and Mamaw Hobart and Ruby Daniels; Grandpa Eugene and his wife Marea Widener, Grandmother-in-law, "Mim" Myrtle Seals Brewer; Uncle, Danny Fritz and Brother-in-law, Wesley Abbott.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Brewer Daniels; Parents, Ron and Rose Widener Daniels; Siblings, Katrina (Brandon) Rutherford & Breydy Daniels; Uncle-in-law, who was like a Brother, Robert Hiram Brewer; Nieces and Nephews, Finley Rutherford, Krystal Fritz, and Micah Widener; Grandmother, Rosetta (Late Grandpa Dave) Fritz; Parent-in-law Butch and Peggy Brewer Abbott, Siblings-in-law, Amanda Burkhart (Children, Anna Lee, who is namesake to Jerry Lee and L.J.), Grant (Missy) Cooper (Children, Michael and Katie Bug) and Stevie and Chris Abbott, Aunts, Darlene (Late Jerry) Rice, Carolyn (Robert) Lee, Ramona (Dedra) Widener, Kelly Widener (Gabe) Price, and Letha Fritz; Uncles, Bug (Shari) Scott, The late Jay (Sherri) Daniels, Rick (Dianna) Daniels, Will (Crystal) Daniels, John Eric Widener, Daniel Widener, and David Wayne Fritz. His good friend and roommate, Paul Collett and the entire staff of Harlan Health & Rehabilitation Center as well as many other family members that he dearly loved.

Jerry Lee will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him.

Per Jerry Lee's last wishes he will be cremated with his remains buried in the family plot at Saylor Cemetery in Pathfork, KY. There will be no visitation or funeral. The family will host a small memorial at a later date.
