James "Jimmy" Turner

James Steven “Jimmy” Turner, Sr., 65 of Harlan passed away on Monday January 14, 2019.

Jimmy was born July 26, 1953 in Harlan, KY to the late Alonzo Turner, Sr. and Gladys Hyde Turner. A lifelong resident of Harlan Co., he was a retired Coal Miner and believed in the Baptist Faith.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Alonzo Turner, Jr., Paul “Bogie” Turner, and Clark Turner; sisters, Mary Alice and Sandra Sue Turner; niece, Natasha Turner Clem; great niece & nephew, Kaitlyn & Jacob Turner; sister in law, Brenda Turner.

He is survived by his children, James Turner (Stephanie Bustle), Stephanie Turner (Randy McQueen), Jamela Johnson Turner; grandchildren, Jamie Turner Laboy, Kiersten Renee Turner Patterson, Adeana Ramsey, Jennifer Amber Nantz, Jackalyn Emily McQueen, Jaida Elizabeth McQueen, Jack Riley McQueen, James Raylan Brody McQueen, Will Gross Turner, Abigail Johnson Turner, Victoria Johnson Turner, Brantley Gross Turner; 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Husky (Anna) Turner, Ralph (Leann) Turner, Mike Turner, Calvin (Barbara) Turner, and Johnnie (Maritza) Turner; sisters, Lesia Lampkin, and Marilyn (Vic) Pollitte; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends, including special friends, Deborah Wilson and Conya Wilson.

Visitation will be 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Friday (Jan. 18) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday (Jan. 19) in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Houston officiating.

Burial will follow in the Alonzo Turner, Sr. Family Cemetery at Bledsoe, KY.

Pallbearers will be James Turner, Johnnie Turner, Jr., Scott Johnson, Robert Turner, Steve Turner, Jeff Turner, Brian Turner, Jake Turner, Paul Turner, and Tim Tolliver.
