James Gerald Blair, 76 of Cawood passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Gerald was born October 30, 1945 in Harlan Co., KY to the late Alfonso and Pearl Blair. He was a retired coal miner after 22 years of service. He was a member of the Cedar Ridge Free Will Baptist Church and the United Mine Workers of America. He loved wrestling, fishing, and going to Church, but most of all he loved spending time with family and his dogs, "Sophie" and "Baby".
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Alto, Chester, and Lewis Blair.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Robin Blair of Cawood; children, Jamie and Amanda Blair of Calvin, KY, and Chris Blair and Johnny Helton of Cranks, KY; 4 grandchildren, Ashley and Joey Grubbs, of Cawood, KY, Chasity and Wayne Engle of Grays Knob, KY, Sharessa and Tyler Hardy of Big Stone Gap, VA, and Miranda Blair of Big Stone Gap, VA; 6 great grandchildren, EJ, Olivia, Anistyn, Kendriana, Hadlee, and Easton; he leaves a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing, including special friends, Tim Stewart, Ed Irvin, Johnny Helton, DJ Brock, Maynard Shipman and many including his very special friend, James Holcomb. Visitation will be 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Saturday (Jan. 8) and 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Sunday (Jan. 9) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday (Jan. 10) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Pastor James Holcomb officiating.
Burial will be in the Evarts Memorial Gardens at Verda, KY with family and friends serving as Pallbearers.
