James "Botche" H. McGlamery III, 78, Rosspoint passed away peacefully February 23 at the VA hospital in Lexington.
A truly kindhearted, funny, and considerate man who always prioritized others' needs above his own, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2024. He found joy in life's simplest yet most priceless treasures.
Born at Harlan Hospital on August 6, 1945, James was the son of James H. McGlamery Jr. and Dorothy McGlamery. He spent his entire life in Rosspoint until 2020 when he relocated to Lexington.
Following his graduation from high school, James proudly served in the Army, with a significant duration of his service spent in Korea, where cherished memories always brought a smile to his face. After his military service, he married the love of his life, Pat McGlamery, with whom he shared 41 years of happiness. Throughout his career, James held various positions, notably working at Harlan Farmer's Supply, owning M&M Market in Rosspoint, and Winterwood Inc. He retired from Winterwood Inc. where he was known as a dedicated maintenance/property custodian. His commitment earned him the nickname "Charlie Hustle" for his unwavering dedication to Eastbrook and Popular Village. Botche received accolades, certificates, and awards from Winterwood, evidence of his caring nature and the lasting friendships forged with the lives he touched.
James is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, and two sisters, Mary Elizabeth McGlamery and Jenny Lequire Barton.
He is survived by his son James "Jim Bo" H. McGlamery IV, his cherished daughter-in-law Ney McGlamery, and his dear sister Judy (Mike) Orick, with whom he shared daily conversations. Additionally, he is mourned by numerous nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of close friends, including Hurston and Mary Blanton, Danny "Two Ton" and Pat Williams, Neil Barnes, Pat Gilbert, Jan Rose Lee, Mike Miller, Terry Fee, Mike and Karen Brock, Terry "Chico" Harrison, Louise Hansel, and so many others.
The family extends their profound gratefulness to the dialysis team at the VA hospital at Cooper Drive for their compassionate care and for treating James as their family.
In accordance with James's wishes, no services will be held and Burial will be in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY.
