Jack R. Whitaker

Jack R. Whitaker, 60 of Maynardville, TN passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at his home.

Jack was born February 18, 1958 in Harlan, KY to the late Udell and Barbara Whitaker. He was a retired coalminer, who enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. He was a member of Verda First Baptist Church and  had been a member of Harlan Lodge 879.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandmother, Pearl Absher.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Frances Whitaker; his two sons, Steve (Carol) Whitaker and Chris (Laura) Whitaker; his grandkids, Waylon and Morgan Whitaker; his brothers and sisters, Ralph (Kathy) Whitaker, Kimberly (Jim) Clem, Hope (Chester) Clem, Susan Turner, and Tom (Marcella) Whitaker; he also leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Friday (November 23) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday (November 24) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Dyer officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Garden in Verda, KY with nephews serving as pallbearers.
