Howard Michael Williams

Howard Michael Williams "Mike" was born on April 26, 1957 in Harlan, Kentucky to the late Robert and Dovie Williams of Baxter, Kentucky, and entered into his eternal resting home on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. 

Mike was a retired coal miner and truck driver. However, the work he was most passionate about was landscaping and making people smile; he took great pride in everything that he did. If there be grass in heaven, Mike is sure to be already mowing and planting flowers. Mike was a simple man. He enjoyed a cold Diet Mountain Dew, a Hershey bar, John Wayne, a Marlboro Red, and spending time with the people he loved most. To know Mike was to love him, and if you were fortunate enough to call him a friend, then you had made one for life. Mike always had a dollar in his pocket, if he hadn't given it away already. His wife, daughter, and granddaughter will have to get up and clean the house themselves now, and that we know is making him smile. 

Besides his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers, Ron Williams, his sisters, Belva Sue Williams and Sheila Howard Curry, and his grandchildren, Olivia and Alex Gooden. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Williams, his daughter, Mandy Gooden, his granddaughter, Whitney Wilson, his brothers, David (Anna) Williams of Holly Springs, NC and Robert (Carla) Williams of Fuquay-Vaina, NC, and Roger (Tina) Williams of Coldiron, KY, and a lifelong friend, David O'neal Howard. He also leaves behind a host of many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends to mourn his passing. 

Keeping with his wishes, graveside services will be on Friday (June 20) at 11:00 AM in the Resthaven Cemetery in Keith, KY with Bro. Oren Howard officiating.
