Hettie V. Lyttle, 72 of Evarts, KY passed away on Friday evening of July 21, 2023 at the University of Kentucky Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington surrounded by her family.
Hettie was born August 30, 1950 in Shields, KY to the late Cordie and Dorothy Jones. She was a graduate of Evarts High School and Cumberland College. She received her Masters from Union College and Rank 1 from Eastern Kentucky University. She was retired from the Harlan County Board of Education after 27 years. She was a member of the Black Mountain Missionary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sung in the Choir. She enjoyed sowing and spending time with her grandbabies.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her grandsons, Ian and Ethan Napier; her sister, Joyce Thomas; her dear friend, Amy Cornett.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ed Lyttle; her daughter, Dezna (Jason) Napier; grandchildren, Reid and Emery Napier; brothers, Cordie Jones, Jr and Bob (Emma) Jones; sister, Jewell Fee; she leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including a special friend, Linda Cornett.
Visitation will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Tuesday (July 25) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm (July 25) in the chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Ed Ford and Rev. Bill Wallace officiating.
Graveside services will be 10:00 am Wednesday (July 26) at the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY. family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 9:30 am to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Reid Napier, Jason Napier, family and friends will serve as Pallbeaerers.
Flowers are welcomed, but the family suggest memorials to Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children.
