Henry "J.R.” Napier

Henry Junior (J.R.) Napier, 75 of Bledsoe, KY passed away Thursday evening of March 27, 2025 at the Harlan ARH while surrounded by his loving family.

J.R. was born August 10, 1949 to the late Bennie and Myrtle Burns Napier. He was retired from Nally & Hayden Rock Quarry. After retiring from the rock quarry J.R. began gravedigging all over Harlan Co and surrounding area for longtime Funeral Home owners, DeWayne Jackson and Dukie Jones. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and ginsenging. If you had the pleasure of knowing J.R. you knew he always greeted you with a smile on his face.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandy Hoskins Napier; son Earl Napier; sister, Aire Napier; niece, Marina Hacker Lee; nephew, Jason Young.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Napier; his children, Denna (Charles) Turner, Anthony (Jessica) Burkhart, and daughter-in-law, Pam Rogers; grandchildren, Chrissy (Terry) Adams, Ethan Napier, Travis Burkhart, Bailey Turner, Brooklyn Burkhart and Jerimiah Burkhart; great grandchildren, Wesley Adams, Alexis Adams, Levi Patterson, Noah Patterson, Jaxxon Adams and Payton Adams; siblings, Ken (Kathy) Napier, Clark (Denise) Napier, Glenda (Robert) Young, Vickie (Jeff) Hacker, Carol (Dean) Collett, Dorothy (James) Trosper; he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm Friday (April 4) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life will follow at 7:00 pm (April 4) in the chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home, speakers will be Jim Huff, Eddie Middleton and Jeff Hacker.
