Gilbert Wayne Helton

Gilbert Wayne "Tick" Helton, 63 of Kettle Island, KY passed away Sunday morning, September 7, 2025, at the home of his daughter Brittany. 

Tick was born December 2, 1961, at Kettle Island to the late Gilbert and Grace Helton. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy and Tom; sisters, Rosie and Wanda; his nephew, Jason "J J" Helton. 

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 40 years, Billie Helton; his children, Brittany (Nathaniel), Austin, Dewayne (Michelle), Ronica and Derick; his grandchildren were his life, his baby girl Aaliyah Kate, Brylee, Natalie, Axel, Ryder, Maverick, Wyatt, Brooklyn, Jacob, Mackenzie, Gage and Candide; his brother, Wenford, Larry and Herchel; sisters, Alice, Gracie, Mona, Mabel, Joyce, Shirley and Linda; he leaves several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. 

Visitation will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Wednesday September 10, 2025, at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home, 114 S. 3rd Street, Harlan, KY 40831. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Hensley and Bro. Jordan Lee Saylor officiating. 

Private burial will be Thursday with family and friends serving as Pallbearers.
