George Grubbs

George Grubbs, 75 of Cawood, KY passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at his home following a brief illness.

He was born on December 23, 1949 in Cawood to the late Blane and Sudie Swanson Grubbs. He worked in construction and in the coal mines for many years.

Besides his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers; Harvey, Hayward, Franklin, Ken, Lawrence, and Oscar, and sister; Mae Ruark; son Dwain G. "Twrep" Smith; nephews, Kenneth Wayne Grubbs, Rick Ruark and Pat Grubbs.

Those left to cherish his memories are three sisters, Bonnie Haynes, Pauline McElwain and Dixie Davidson; two brothers, Louis and Carl Grubbs; special sister-in-law, Freda Grubbs; and Derek Abbott; he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including a special friend, Brandon Haynes to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be on Saturday (June 28) from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

A private family burial will be held at a later date at the Sudie Grubbs Cemetery in Cawood, Kentucky.
