Gary Wayne Harris, age 68, of South Lebanon, Ohio, passed away on January 6, 2026. He was born on November 14, 1957, to the late Garfield and Nora Harris.
Gary was a devoted and loving husband of 49 years to his wife, Nancy Harris (née Easterly). He was a proud and loving father to his children and their spouses, Gary (Sugar) Harris, Jr. and Amy (Joshua) Butler. Gary was also the beloved owner and faithful companion of his dog, Gus.
Family was at the center of Gary’s life. He treasured time spent with his loved ones and especially cherished his role as “Pappy” to his grandchildren: Chloe, Garrett, Aly, Gavin, Gary Boy III, Emma, and Griffin.
Gary was the dear brother of Annette, Kenneth, James, and Debbie, and the late Doug. He is also survived by many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and friends who will miss him greatly. He is survived locally by two cousins, Janet Nolan and Molly Sue Baker both of Coldiron. He was preceded in death by his aunt/uncle, Lucille and Clyde Nolan.
Gary loved gathering with family after Sunday church for lunch, simply enjoying being together. He also loved spending time on his fishing boat or sitting along the bank of the water, fishing with his family and making memories that he deeply treasured.
As a graduate of Kings High School class of 1976 Gary loved his community and showed it through his service to others. He enjoyed coaching his children and later even helping coach his grandchildren, always being their biggest fan. He also faithfully served as a Scoutmaster and was a dedicated leader in Royal Rangers, investing time, wisdom, and faith into the lives of countless young people.
After 34 years of dedicated service, Gary retired from the Keebler-Kellogg Company. He loved driving a semi-truck and often said he missed being behind the wheel. His love for driving extended beyond work where he and Nancy frequently took long drives together, whether heading to their cabin in Kentucky or simply enjoying quiet time side by side.
Gary had a gift for making people laugh, and his infectious laugh was unforgettable. A kid at heart, he enjoyed collecting toy cars, hats, and knives, always saving them “just in case the kids might want them someday.”
Most of all, Gary loved the Lord with his whole heart and was passionate about sharing the Good News with others. He was a true worshipper and a proud, faithful member of Kings Point Church of God where he and Nancy serve as the Senior Adult Leaders over the Angler’s Ministry.
Family and friends will be received Monday, January 12, from 6:00–8:00 PM at Kings Point Church of God, 5600 State Route 48, Maineville, Ohio 45039. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 13, at 10:00 AM, also at the church. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
