Floyd Hubert King

   Floyd Hubert King, 88 of Cranks crossed over to his Eternal life with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday morning of September 1, 2025 at the Norton Community Hospital in Norton, VA.

   Floyd was born September 28, 1936 in Cranks, KY to the late Simon and Claudia Hall King. He was a Veteran of the United States Army who served non-combat in South Korea and Germany. He worked many years in the coal business, but his true love was being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed tending his garden, helping his neighbors with construction projects, working with cattle, as well as, cutting and baling hay. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan and member of the Cawood Church of God.

   Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Skidmore King; brothers, Jesse, Simon, Henry, Sylvester and Curtis; sisters, Betty Sue, Georgia, Janice and Joanna.

   He is survived by his daughter, Glenna (Kevin) Hackney; grandson, Eli Hackney all of Eubank, KY; brother, Clarence King; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including special friends, Rachel Middleton, Homer and Judy Ely, Shawn and Tasha Ely and their children, Brody and Kasen.

   Visitation will be 12:00 - 2:00 pm Friday, September 5, 2025 at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Sean Daniels officiating.

   Burial will follow in the Skidmore Cemetery at Cranks, KY with family and friends serving as Pallbearers.

   Flowers are welcome but the family suggest memorials to the Cawood Church of God, PO Box 42 Cawood, KY or to the Harlan Mission Outreach, Building Fund, PO Box 392 Grays Knob, KY 40829.
