Edward "Eddie" Wayne Huckleby

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our husband, daddy, papaw and big pap. Pastor Edward "Eddie" Wayne Huckleby, 75 of London, KY formerly of Harlan County went home to be with the Lord on Saturday evening of August 2, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Eddie was born in Pinevile, Ky on October 1,1949 to Ed and Frances (Kellems) Huckleby. He grew up in Harlan County and after high school he joined the US Navy, where he proudly served his country as part of the Seabees.

After returning home he began a career in the coal mines of Harlan County. He eventually opened Huckleby Rebuild and was a successful business owner helping serve the coal mining industry for over 20 years. Eddie surrendered to preach in 2005, and became the Pastor of Chevrolet Missionary Baptist Church in 2011. He continued that faithful service until the Lord called him home.

A loving and devoted husband to Barbara for 52 years, they raised 2 daughters, April and Lori. Eddie was always there to support, teach and help his family. He loved family gatherings, vacations, designing and building things for others. Always helping his family with their projects both big and small.

Eddie humbly lived a life of service to the Lord, his family, church, community and country. He was loved by all who knew him and leaves behind a great legacy. His kindness, sense of humor and infectious laugh will be remembered forever.

Beside his parents he is preceded in death by 2 brother in laws, Gary Lee Abbott and Roy Abbott.

Survived by his loving wife, Barbara of London; daughters, April (Terrill) Wilson and Lori (Jason) Hammack all of London; grandsons, Logan (Hannah) Watkins, Connor Wilson, Brody Hammack and Tyler Wilson; great grandchildren, Brysen, Baylor and Hudson; brothers, James (Kathy) Huckleby and Robert (Marcella) Huckleby; brother in laws, Jerry (Janet) Abbott, Charlie (Jeanne) Abbott and Bob (Terri) Rose; he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, his church family and many friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation is 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Wednesday (Aug 6) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home, 114 S. 3rd Street, Harlan, KY 40831.

Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Craig officiating and the obituary will be read by Logan Watkins. Music will be provided by Stephen Huckleby and Connor Wilson.

Burial will be 11:00 am Thursday (Aug 7) at the Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. Marty Bramble officiating. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 am to go in the funeral procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Huckleby, Aaron Huckleby, Stephen Huckleby, Chuck Abbott, Logan Watkins, Connor Wilson, Brody Hammack and Collin Huckleby
