Dorothy Williams

March 17, 1931 — May 24, 2013

Dorothy Sue Howard Williams, 82 of Loyall went peacefully to be with her Lord  & Savior on Friday May 24, 2013 at the Tri Cities Nursing Home, Cumberland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Williams; parents, Hamp & Lottie Howard; an unborn child, siblings, June Howard Browning and Ralph Clay Howard.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Dan (Pat) Williams of Baxter; grandsons, Christopher (Tonya) Williams of Hyden, Stephen (Lori) Williams of Shelbyville, and Andrew Williams of Richmond; great grandchildren, Connor, Amelia, and Kamden Williams; sister, Mary Marlin (Dan) Beasley of Mt. Sterling, KY; sister in law, Georgia Ann (Bert) Turpin of Richmond, KY; she leaves her much loved cat, Anna Belle; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.

Dorothy was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother; she was greatly loved by family and friends. She was a Charter and oldest member of the Wesley Evangelical Church. A proud resident of Loyall for 67 years and was honored to be a current member of the Loyall City Council. She was well known for her cooking and baking and she was always ready to help friends and neighbors in times of joy and sorrow.

Visitation will be Monday May 27, 2013 from 4 – 7:00 pm at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 7:00 in the chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Miller and Rev. Kyle Burnette officiating.

Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday May 28, 2013 at the Resthaven Cemetery Chapel. Family & Friends is asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:30 to proceed to the Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Christopher, Stephen, Andrew, Connor, and Kamden Williams, David Clay Howard, Fred Browning, Jr, Wayne Lawrence, Gary Lawrence, and Mike Coldiron.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dan Howard, Mike Anderson, Mike Kelly, Jeff Phillips, Eric Rose, Ambires Smith, Jr, Dennis Voci, Mike Gilpin, David Cavins, Loyall City Council, Loyall City Employees, and Loyall Police Chief Mike Lunsford, and Denny Jones.
